This is mostly concerning the Madhouse, but it applies to too many events in Maple, which have an element of RNG and limited attempts. Thus, also things such as the Dark Lords of Darkness, Hunter's Club, SAO (although that you had a paid component) Maplestory Mesos , etc. An event ought to have a way to make sure everybody wins, given they try hard enough.

Examples for your Madhouse event: Allow going back if reaching the Escape space, without using up another pass. It is still possible to never find a particular page, even when allowed to roam the Madhouse eternally, but it gets vanishingly unlikely. Make it feasible to buy any diary page you're missing by paying a few (large) number of coins. This could either be the Vending Machine NPC, or it could be some new shady NPC (like a greedy Orderly) that only appears after you have cleared X quantity of rooms.

Make the opportunity for getting a page out of the appropriate reactor go up with the number of efforts you make, until it reaches 100% or till you get the webpage. Consequently, if the prospect of a Test Tube falling Page 2 starts out in 5%, then each time Maple Mobile Mesos you trigger a Test Tube it will go up by another 5%, until after 20 Test Tubes you're assured of getting that page. Once you get the page the opportunity resets to 5% and stays there.

I am sure different methods can be thought of. The important part is, again : make sure everyone who makes a sincere effort can finish the event. But which makes us work hard and after that fail due to random chance, is frustrating, enraging, and unfair. Real Life does that, but we play games to escape the frustrations of actual life, not to acquire more of them.
