But the cinematic dream has become a reality, and the newest self-lacing shoes commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first sketches of the Nike Air Jordan 11 and will be released with “Adapt: self-lacing tech” when they hit shelves on Dec. 30.
The revolutionary new kicks also change color and feature flashing lights on the sides. The Nike Adapt BB was released last year using the same self-lacing tech with a hefty $350 price tag. The lacing was controlled by a smartphone and buttons on the side of the sole to adjust the tension, or how the shoe wraps around the foot.

That helped lift AUD/USD, given that the central bank caught investors off guard. However, comments from the Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida sent the US Dollar higher versus most of its peer currencies, including the Aussie Dollar. Australia‘s balance of trade figure is likely to be the most significant risk driver today. Economists are anticipating to see cross-border trade totaling A$10.45 billion in June, according to a Bloomberg survey. That would be slightly higher than May’s outcome. The price of the second cryptoasset by market capitalization has been rising in the past week ahead of this upgrade, going up 1% in that time, and 4% over the past 24 hours alone. At 12:27 UTC, it was trading at USD 2,629. This is its highest price since early June.
It had hit its record high of nearly USD 4,357 (per Coingecko) in May, falling 40% since.
Some major exchanges have decided to suspend ETH and ERC-20 tokens deposits and withdrawals during the time of upgrade. The most talked-about in the recent months is EIP-1559, and its accompanied by EIP-3198 and EIP-3529. It should enable better transaction fee estimation and allow for more reliable transaction inclusion, as well as at least modestly decrease the rate of ETH inflation through the burning of transaction fees, among other points.
It will not, however, lower the gas prices in the long run, nor make ETH deflationary by default.
Ross Middleton, CFO of the DeversiFi exchange, called the upgrade a huge day for the Ethereum cryptocurrency ecosystem, saying that now every transaction, non-fungible token (NFT) purchase or loan on the Ethereum network will result in ETH being burned out of existence.
The equivalent would be Apple Inc burning AAPL shares every time someone bought something from the Apple App store or made an in-app purchase, said Middleton.
Patience and warnings
Many of the changes brought by this EIP and the upgrade in general will not be visible overnight. Additionally, a number of industry insiders, such as MyCrypto CEO Talyor Monahan, have been warning users to lower their expectations, and be aware that there may be issues coming with the fork as well. For example, wed seen problems occurring during the previous, Berlin upgrade.
Others have noted that a variety of issues and bugs can pop up, but also that this particular EIP has been tested extensively.
The EIP-1559 contributors described the EIP as an incredibly complex change, the largest done on Ethereum mainnet to date, which will improve both the user experience and economics of the entire network. They added that the engineers, researchers, and other contributors will not directly capture any of the ultimate benefit to the network.

An updated version of the bill – which would seek to fund and enshrine billions of dollars worth of public spending commitments into law – has also been slated as “unacceptable” for the crypto sector. Fears remain high that the legislation would seek to squeeze up to USD 28bn from the crypto sector in the United States.
The advocates are urging Twitter followers to back the amendment, launched by a bipartisan group of senators (the Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, as well as the Republican Senators Pat Toomey and the Bitcoin (BTC)-keen Cynthia Lummis). The measure proposes an alternative crypto plan that would seek to force crypto exchanges and other players to relay data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The blockchain and crypto consultant Katherine Wu called the tool a “super easy process.”
However, the General Counsel at Compound Labs Jake Chervinsky wrote that “some people are reporting issues getting through to their Senators” using the link, suggesting other forms of contact if this proved to be the case.
He called on “everyone” to contact their senators “now.”
The Coinbase chief Brian Armstrong warned that the bill could have dire consequences if approved. He wrote that the bill would mean that “almost anyone in the crypto ecosystem (miners, validators, smart contracts, open-source developers, etc)” could be “treated as a ‘broker,’” which would put “massive reporting obligations” on them. The measure, he added would also “force exchanges like Coinbase and others to surveil its customers transactions in a way that is more intrusive than the rest of traditional finance.”
His thoughts were echoed by Coinbase rival Kraken‘s CEO Jesse Powell, who wrote that the amendment “isn’t going to pump itself.”
He claimed the process of using the tool to call his senators “took [him] less than five minutes,” but noted:

Lemos added that the matter was an issue that must be regulated “with great caution” as it was “an economic phenomenon that has not been fully understood worldwide.”
On Twitter, reaction to the bill in Uraguay was mixed – with some questioning whether crypto could truly ever be regulated, while others opining that Uruguay should try to potion itself at the center of technological innovation in the Latin American region.

The market is reacting to this new information as the US dollar started to rise against other currencies. The US dollar started gaining some momentum last week as it expects more economic data release in the coming weeks.
The price of Gold crashed from the weekly resistance at 1830, where the price dropped below 1700 in August. Upon the release of the NFP data two weeks ago, Gold rallied to 1830 but failed to break through as the seller sent the price back to 1790 the following week.
As seen on the 4hr chart below, the price of Gold had breached below the 1810 support zone, where the price rallied to 1830. The price is now way below the 1810 support zone, and it's currently trading at 1788 at publishing time. 1790 is giving price support but a range has developed at this support level as sellers look to take away this support level.
Buyers attempted to rally to 1810 but the mini resistance at 1800 sent the price back down, thereby creating a mini range. Further rejection from the 1800 resistance level will see the price of Gold crash to 1750, which is the next support level.
The price of Gold will likely fall below 1700 if the FEDs hike their interest rate later this month.
According to the latest COT report, over 5000 contracts were added to Gold short positions and over 4000 contracts were closed from long positions. The non-commercials are changing their bias on Gold as they await the FEDs' decision on the interest rate.

The final EU CPI reading for August is also expected to confirm a 3% rate and core prices of 1.6%, pointing to the ECB needs to raise rates before market forecasts of 2025.
A report circulated yesterday implied that the ECB would achieve 2% inflation before the end of the year. However, the ECB has had trouble getting close to 2% over the last ten years, let alone averaging 2% over 18 months, so such an outcome seems highly speculative and unlikely.
The EUR/USD price posted some gains from the monthly lows of 1.1750. However, the pair still lacks some follow-through momentum to surpass the key 1.1800 level. The volume of upside attempts is declining, which indicates that a broad bearish trend remains intact. The average daily range is 35%, which is healthy for the pair during the Asian session. However, the decisive figure is still 1.1800, which will decide the direction. Any break above the level may lead towards the weekly highs of 1.1845.
